I. School Syllabus/Lecturers
Our syllabus is comprehensive and encompasses a total concept of beauty and health.Other than foundational and beauty courses, we also offer subject areas in health such as first aid and nutrition. Our syllabus covers broader perspectives than that of existing diplomas as offered by international accreditation bodies. We hope that therapists would be more aware and conscious of the health aspects or implications of beauty treatments and would be in a better position to offer professional advice to their clients. Our lecturers are specially chosen for their working experience and expertise in their relevant fields. All our chosen lecturers are qualified and professional with prior teaching experiences.
II. Internship
As we value practical training at the college highly, internships are compulsory at every level of the diploma course. To stress the importance of internship to our students, there is a requirement for students to pass the internship in order to proceed to the next level of their course. The duration of the internship would be between 4 to 12 weeks for level 1, 2 and 3. Students performance during the internship would be assesses by their mentor, lecturers and self-assessments to promote initiative and accountability to students.
III. Service Centre
Our service centre will be designed and set up to mirror a real working environment with real clients from the market. This will offer students greatest opportunities to experience real situations and develop greater understanding of the importance of customer care and professional management systems. Students, upon attaining a satisfactory level of skill, are required to work in a salon setting in the service centre on real clients. We hope the in-college in our service centre would provide a seamless transition for our graduates from college to commercial beauty houses or salons.
IV. Career Development (Graduates)
The Career Development Centre is a key part of the college model. With the establishment of a Career Development Centre, we are able to offer job recruitment and career placement services to the industry and our graduates. The centre, via its extensive network, would also be able to source for internship placements for our students. The centre also serves as a principal point of contact for employers that wish to recruit the college interns or graduates. The college aspires to be the bridge between our graduates and the industry by establishing the reputation to provide a strong job placement services to our graduates and students and to the industry. The centre also organizes activities in career development such as workshops and networking sessions. These activities are carried out to improve our students understanding of the market so that students can make informed choices and maximize their employment opportunities in the industry.
V. Post Diploma Program opportunities
The college will continue to offer specialized post-graduate courses to provide continual learning and upgrade of skills for our graduates or therapists. Our continual Practicing Education Program organizes workshops and activities for our members (graduates) so that they are kept abreast of the latest developments or changes in the industry.
